Located about half a kilometre beeline from “Font Losse”, this charming old farmhouse was originally built in 1762, three decades before the French Revolution. Chez Jouan is a detached farmhouse covered by climbing roses and enclosed by tall acacias and walnut trees and enjoys panoramic views across valleys, meadows and vineyards. It is located in 2,000m2 of grounds on a southwest-facing slope.
“Chez Jouan”
Chez Jouan was carefully renovated according to the same criteria applied to Font Losse: the use of environmentally compatible, traditional local building materials. We converted the typical two-roomed farmhouse with stables and a hayloft into a spacious (123m2) country home, ideal for a family of five.
The house door opens into the large kitchen (20m2) with adjoining light-flooded dining room. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas cooker, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The central feature is the typical open kitchen range with a log-burning stone oven, 240 years old and still intact.
The ground floor also comprises a WC, a storage closet and a large lounge (32m2) with an open fire. On the first floor are the three bright bedrooms (20m2, 12m2, 7m2), a walk-in wardrobe, another separate WC and a spacious bathroom with bathtub. Chez Jouan is equipped with electric heating, hot water, a washing machine, phone, TV, stereo/CD player and wireless internet.
There are large patios facing east, south and west, so that the sun can be enjoyed throughout the day. The adequately sized (5 x 11m) modern swimming pool is just a few steps from the patio and barbecue area.
Booking
Chez Jouan is completely furnished and equipped with all cooking and dining utensils. Guests do however need to bring their own bed linen and towels. For those staying more than one week, a two-hour cleaning service is provided every Saturday free of charge.
Although the pool is safeguarded with an alarm system we do assume that our tenants and their children are able to swim.
The deposit is 1/3 of the total rent. We request the payment of the remaining rent and also a deposit cheque for one week’s rent 30 days before the holiday date.
The weekly rental rate depends on the time of year and can be found in the rate list. Please ask for availability.
